Week 4
Jets @ Patriots

Jets jumped out to an early 17-0 lead and never looked back. They did coast a little in the 3rd, allowing the score to come back to 17-10 before Connor Wallace, rookie receiver out of North Texas, put up not one, but two punt return touchdowns showing his electric moves. Wallace, a call up from the practice squad, scored twice in his first NFL game, putting DeAnthony Thomas's punt return duties in jeopardy. All in all a solid defensive game, with an offense that settled to run the clock out rather than put up big offensive numbers. 31-10 Jets win in Foxborough. Jets improve to 4-0 on the year.

Key Performers:

  • Seth Russell- 12/20 164 yards 1 TD 1 INT
  • Saquon Barkley- 13 carries 76 yards 1 TD

Week 4
Washington at Seattle

In the redskins vs Seahawks game it was a real back and forth affair. Redskins scored first on a cousins to Jordan Reed TD. Seahawks immediately responded marching down the field with a great two headed attack from Rawls and Chubb just pounding the rock down Washington's throat and scored relatively easily. Tied at 14 nearing the end of the half Seattle's Russel Wilson threw the first of two picks in the game, this one to Josh Norman who took it to the house and put the Redskins up 21-14 going into the half. Washington put up 16 in the 4th to take the lead and never look back. Well fought game from both sides. 37-27 Redskins win in Seattle and improve to 2-2 on the season.

  • Casey Veal 9 carries 26 yards 1 TD

Week 4: Seahawks lose to Redskins

Seahawks finally find thier running game with Rawls and Chubb, but cannot overcome two critical turnovers:
- Pick 6 to Josh Norman
- 4th quarter drive to tie to K Emanuel

Offensive production was there but Wilson needs to stop forcing throws that are not open. With lackluster Oline play, he is hearing footsteps and is throwing too quickly.

Disappointing effort by the D with no turnovers and giving up 329 yards to Cousins.

After the game, Seattle gives a huge vote of confidence to HB second stringer Nick Chubb by trading Thomas Rawls to Cleavland for ROLB Barkevious Mingo.

Seattle looks forward to Week 5 with returning CB Mcfadden(last years first rounder) and MLB Chancellor (this years Frist rounder)

The NFC West is still wide open with Seattle 1-3 , only 2 games behind first place Arizona.

Denver vs Miami CPU

Denver lead most of the game, but couldn't hold on for the win. Denvers Adrian Peterson and CJ Anderson struggled early leading to Rookie HB Demarco Neal getting 15 carries, 65 yards rushing. With the offensive woes, Denver is still looking for their first win.

Texans take their first loss of the season to the yet victorious Colts

5 turnovers (3 qb fumbles and 2 ints) by the Texans and one safety did them in ... 3 qb fumbles by Osweiler while under immense pressure all day caused catastrophe ... later in the game Oz attempted a roll out pass buried on the 1 yd line and stepped out of the back of the end zone ... that safety was ultimately the 2 pt diff in the game

Devon Allen was smoothed by Vonte Davis all day ... 94 spd vs 82 spd and could not get any separation ... Lamar Miller struggled to find any kind of openings in the run game as the Texans just looked as if they were playing JV ball today

Week 5 Cowboys at Vikings

The Vikings thoroughly dominated this game and it was said head coach Mike Zimmer was in a bad mood before the game and determined to make the Cowboys pay. Pay they did. Minnesota jumped out to a 24-3 halftime lead which was 34 at and the end 3. The Vikings outgained Dallas 412 to 192 and the new version of the Purple People Eaters had Dak Prescott in trouble all day.

Week 5 - Lions at Panthers
Lions win 13-3

The Lions move to 4-1 on the season but there can't be anyone out there honestly optimistic about this team for the long term. The defense is playing excellent football right now and they are pretty much the only bright spot. They really made their presence felt this week as they absolutely dominated the Panthers and harassed Cam Newton all day in his first game back from injury. He was sacked 8 times with Myles Garrett accounting for 4 of them. The Panthers were held to 125 yards total offense. Bad news...Rosen is still making the mistakes at the absolute worst times. He threw another two interceptions, both in the end zone to move his season total to an astounding 12 with only 6 TDs. That is not the ratio the Lions want to see. The offense simply looks out of sync from the play-calling to the execution and everything in-between.

Key Stats:
Josh Rosen - 20-29 160 yards 1 TD 2 INT
Ameer Abdullah - 13-91
Keith Marshall - 9-47
Myles Garrett - 8 tackles, 4 sacks and 2 tackles for loss
Ezekiel Ansah - 6 tackles, 2 sacks and 1 tackle for loss

Week 5
Patriots at Redskins

The redskins dominated this game from the start. After a slow start for both teams the redskins turned it on in the second quarter scoring 20 points started by a Jimmy Weeks int returned for a td. Kirk cousins goes down with an injury and backup brad kayaa comes in and manages the team for the rest of the game. Redskins defense racks up 6 picks, 3 sacks and 2 defensive touchdowns. We give up a late touchdown to Eric Decker on an otherwise flawless performance by the defense. Patriots defense shut down the running game until late when Veal breaks off a 55 yard td run followed by Matt Jones breaking a 75 yarder on the next possession.

Key performers:

Brad Kayaa 7-10 136 yards 2 tds 0 int
Casey Veal 12 carries for 84 yards 1 td, 1 rec 55 yrd 1 td
Matt Jones 16 carries for 81 yards 1 td
Jamison Crowder 5 catches 69 yards 1 td
Jimmy Weeks 9 tackles 1 int 1 td
Malik Jefferson 6 tackles 1 int
Kyle Emanuel 6 tackles 1 sack 1 forced fumble

Week 5
Falcons @ Colts

Falcons dominate this game from start to finish, winning 34-16. The lead was 31-3 toward the end of the 3rd quarter, but a fumble return for a TD by the Colts, and a late TD made this game look a little closer than it actually was. The Falcons offense was firing on all cylinders the entire game, and the defense held the Colts to just 209 yards of total offense. The 2 turnovers by the Falcons add to a already poor turnover differential, dropping it to -4 on the season. The win brings Atlanta to 4-1 on the season, now having won 4 in a row after the Week 1 loss to Minnesota.

Key Performers
QB Matt Ryan | 22/29 283 yards 3 TD 1 INT
HB Tevin Coleman | 16 carries 74 yards 1 TD
HB Jay Ajayi | 7 carries 33 yards, 4 catches 85 yards 1 TD
WR Julio Jones | 5 catches 51 yards 1 TD
TE Jimmy Graham | 4 catches 74 yards 1 TD
RE Vic Beasley Jr | 8 tackles 3 TFL 1.5 sacks

Week 5
Steelers @ Jets

New York finally sees a home game after 3 straight road games, and despite that did not bring a complete game to their fans. Jets fans were treated to the team moving the ball between the 20's but not a lot of finishing. As usual, the defense showed up and did what they were supposed. Seth Russell had a solid game but did commit his 3rd INT of the year in the win. This one left something to be desired, and hopefully is not the wheels falling off the wagon. Jets beat Steelers 17-8 in a game that never felt safe until the final whistle.

Key Performers:

  • Seth Russell: 15/24 227 yards 2 tds 1 int 4 rushes 26 yards QBR: 103.9
  • Saquon Barkley: 11 rushes 53 yards/LJ Scott only 35 yards on 14 carries
  • Jerel Vittatoe: 6 catches 104 yards 1 td

  • Tim Williams: 5 tackles 1 sack 2 fumble recoveries

Week 6

Lions at Packers

Lions got themselves into an early hole but it wasn't on the defense in this one. After taking a 3-0 lead, the Lions kicked off to the Packers and 2nd year player Dante Pettis took it 90 yards for a TD. On the very next drive, the blitz happy Packers sacked Rosen who fumbled and the Pack picked it up for a TD. Rosen played well and threw a couple of TDs but the story of the game was the running back duo for the Lions. They combined for 33 carries for 158 yards. The Lions hung on to win 31-28. They are on bye for week 7.

Key Stats:
Josh Rosen - 21-35 228 yards 2 TDs and 0 INT

Week 6
Bills @ Jets

The Buffalo Bills are unable to get back on track and do not look like the team they were just a year and a half ago when they controlled the division. This game was a reminder of the new sheriff being in town. The Jets dominated the Bills and if not for two late desperation scores in the 4th would have help their division rivals to 3 points. It was all about the ground game against the Bills as they the Jets scored 3 rushing touchdowns by 3 different players. The game was never in doubt.
