Juke had posted the link in this thread and we had this started already so I merged them together.

I think its probably going to be Cam. You have to look at their recent history. OBJ because of the miraculous catch. Sherman bc of him being the elite corner and a big story the year before. Cam was the big story last year. No story was bigger. Think that's the route they are going to go. I also don't think they are going to go defense twice in three years.

The caveat could be if the big new feature this year is defensive matchups returning or something like that. Then I could maybe see Josh Norman as he was a big story defensively last year. I guess it really depends on what they are going to market. Is there a new QB feature so they go Cam or is their a big defensive feature and they go Norman or even Von Miller (which could be a possibility if they focus on D more than just defensive matchups).

Now in CFM, you can export your team to MUT... I have zero trust in EA

Why? We're five seasons into our CFM. Can't be that bad? Also, adding Draft Champions Ranked and MUT Salary Cap were huge post-launch additions.

I think they started off the year terrible with a major bug that delayed CFMs for a month. But they recovered better than just about any game ever has. That says something for the team working on this game.

I always fear that EA forces trade offs with what we get even if it is the little things. I worry about what will be missing sometimes more than we will be improved. Stuff like d assignments, custom teams/leagues, superstar mode, and presentation sometimes fall out of the game. I think they have made bad decisions based on a bottom line rather than improving the game and the team may have good intentions, but I need to see it to believe it.

I hope tonight I am excited.

I think you're making assumptions based off of incomplete information. Stuff that was in before like defensive assignments were taken out when we moved to a new generation and they couldn't get the coding right. Every time there is a movement to a new generation of systems we "lose" features because of the new technology and having to figure out how to implement it on the new system.

Superstar mode was done by the old regime when they went to the CFM format. I think most will agree that was a poor decision looking back. I would expect it to return at some point, but not until the core gameplay and CFM are on point. Hopefully next year with CFM the focus this year.

I shouldn't have to find a good sim league to have fun in this game is my problem I guess. I feel like so much is missing and I would gladly forgo another minor graphical update to fix things that have been missing or clunky for years.

- Defensive Assignments are hugely important
- Defensive Alignment control (Cover 3 Cloud w/ a slot not pressing the WR1, CB positioning in twins formations giving away zone or man, Reactive as opposed to set zones)
- Custom Audibles/Hot Routes without making a whole new playbook
- Blocking and running feels like pinball or just unfair if you bounce runs
- Developing story-lines in CFM (would cover old superstar mode and current franchise)

When I look at this stuff though honestly I know that I am a hardcore football fan and a control freak with my teams. I need to step back and realize that this game is never going to be designed for users like me. 4 verts will always exist and so will certain other easy money plays, because less skilled users need them to be able to play. I want more control, but some of these things are options that probably won't be used.

I would bet most of those (with the exception of probably custom hot routes) are going to be updated in some way this year.
