Just a thought, cut scenes can slow the game down. I think it minimizes them if you do fast play. However, you might not want to force guys to watch them. danwin would probably know better than I but I can see guys getting frustrated having to watch them. I hated not being able to skip through some in madden...

To me its always best to let team that is hitting at the time do all fast forwarding through cut scenes. That way the hitter controls how much time he has to get ready for next pitch and you don't have a guy pitching when the hitter is trying to pause to use pinch hitter.

It does not let me edit my posts, so I'm going to group all the rules we have gotten and put them together in one post. We are also adding a new rule which will be at the bottom of this post.

League Guidelines
  • Difficulty: Allstar
  • Games Per Season: 82 (Up for Vote)
  • Quick Counts: On
  • Guess Pitch: Off
  • Advance Schedule: Random, based on league average. Slowpoke Rule will be in effect.
  • Rosters: OSFM
  • Trade Committee: BigTexas18 NightHawkTH32 woodsmall12
Slowpoke Rule
Since games are play as you go, there will be a slow poke rule, to not hold the league up. If a user falls 15 games behind the league average of games played, games will be simmed to catch up, so we can keep moving.

Trade Rules
Because of the limited schedule, we will allow up to 3 trades a year. To be able to process a trade, it must be posted in the transactions thread. The trade will be voted on by the committee, once it passes then it may be submitted in game, then it will go to a league vote in game. If it passes both of those stages then the trade will go through. No rating threshold on trades, due to the 2 stage process. When posting a trade, it must be put in the Transactions thread and titled "Rangers-Nationals Trade, or whatever team you are. You must tag both users and committee, then post players name, age, overall, position, potential, and contract.
EXAMPLE:
danwin
Nolan Ryan SP 99 Overall A Potential 33 Years Old
4 Years 35M

Trade With sifukeatis
Sandy Koufax SP 99 Overall A Potential 34 Years Old
3 Years 30M

Free Agent Rules

A team may sign up to 3 FA per advance period, Regardless of overall.

Content Rules
There will be a team page required for every team. A general synopsis will be due at the end of spring training. It can be over whatever you want, whether it be how your team performed, predictions, keys to the season. Anything involving your team. A post will also be required whenever a roster move is made (Player released, FA signed, Call ups, Send downs, Trade). Then a recap at seasons end, and as we got through offseason , the content rules kick back with the end of spring training

Twitch Rules
Every game will be required to post on twitch. Please work with your opponent to see who will stream. PX1Sports must be in the title.
EXAMPLE: Rangers vs Astros PX1Sports

*
Rules may be edited as we go along through the season, with notice*
*Everyone required to read, like the rules thread, and comment agree to start*
*Please vote for Games per season*

Sim Play Rules

- Players must be played at primary or secondary positions
- Starting pitchers can only be used in bullpen roles as long relievers
Pitching
- All teams must use a 5 man starting rotation
- Mix up you pitch type and location
- Dirt balls and balls over the batter's head should not happen frequently
- No quick pitching, you must give the batter time to prepare for the pitch
- Do not intentionally hit the batter
- Do not sub your pitcher in the middle of an at bat
- You can use whatever pitching option you want
Baserunning
- Do not start to steal before the pitcher starts his delivery
- Runners can only advance one base on an infield hit unless there is a throwing error
- You can use whatever baserunning option you want
Fielding
- Do not attempt to throw a runner out at 1st on a ball hit to right field
Hitting
- Bunting should be realistic and used for a sacrifice or with a fast batter at the plate
- Do not sub your hitter in the middle of an at bat
- You can use whatever hitting option you want

Bench Player Rules
All subs must play a certain percentage of games. Teams don't have players on their squad just to sit on the bench. Since they took out the energy bar for position players, we are going to require you to manually sub your players in for games, because players in real life do get fatigued, and get days off. Research subs play about 35-50% of games depending on skill and team needs, and player fatigue. We are going to require all teams to sub bench players in once every 2 series, or once every 5 games. This doesn't mean that all sub players have to be in for the same game, they just need to make a start along those guidelines.

I do feel I should say something about the slow poke rule. If you want to keep players, a slow poke rule of falling 15 games behind league average is to vague. If I was not off work from back surgery, I would have no where near the games played that I do. When I first started I thought it was going to be 7 games a week. When people go to sign up they need to know exactly how many games they are expected to play. Right now I can play as many as needed but later this could be a big problem. When you already have someone who has played about 30 games, every one should not be expected to catch up to him. Eventually you will lose members and always have a overturning of players. Its just my opinion, but you might want to decide on a set number of games a week so new members know what is expected if you want this new league to last. I've played in many leagues that failed because players weren't able to keep up with unrealistic play requirements. I don't want this league to end because of that.

My only counter to what Danwin said is that at 7 games a week that's 2 3/4 months for ONE season not including playoffs. I personally would like it to be more than 7 per week. Just my 2 cents

That's why I had set it based on a league average, but I see where he's coming from when people like woodsmall12 go buck wild and get 40 games in 5 days lol. We'll try to find a nice medium.

I agree with xAZxItalian 7 games is not enough. Especially when it only takes about 35 minutes per game with quick counts. BigTexas18 I think going with league average is perfect. 15 games behind league average means you probably aren't playing much at all considering we are all on a good pace right now.

Hi folks, just a couple questions, sorry if I missed where they are explained in the rules, this is my first mlb franchise. First of all what is the deal with games we have schedules against a.i. players? Sim? Play? Either? And then secondly is there any house rules regarding call ups/send downs as there are with trades? Or no restrictions? Thanks IN advance. Kyle

Thanks for your input! Ok so CPU games may be played as you go. Whenever you can. I'm going to set up a scheduling thread for people who aren't using groupme. I meant to do that already and it slipped my mind. A lot of us communicate with a mobile app called groupme which I believe I tagged you in, but I will still set up a thread so you can communicate to your human opponents. Right now, there are no restrictions on call ups/send downs but a team page post is required which you can update us on your moves. Let me know if you have any other questions Kyle!
