Q: Good game. Came away with a win on the road. As usual Defense dominated. Give us a a summary of your game plan coming in ?
Coach: The defense has been a consistent part of our success and once again they came through big. Blanton stepped up and had a very good game, and Rhodes was also very effective in the secondary. We knew they were going to come in and be pass heavy, so we felt like if we control their main receivers in Fitzgerald and Floyd we be able to keep their offense off the field.
Q: Adrian Peterson, put up the numbers, we normally expect of him today with a great game 125 + yards and a TD. Offense appeared to struggle in the passing game. Bridgewater threw 2 pics one being in the endzone. The offense line only appeared to play well only allowing 1 sack. Since the pressure wasn't getting to Bridgewater, what was causing him issues today?
Coach: We talked about it, he was having a little trouble with the noise levels in the dome there. I think overall, he did make some great plays, and moved the ball and maintained possession to give us more time on the offensive and keep their offense off the field, which was key in our securing a win.
Q: Cordarrelle Patterson had his best game of the season this week, with 7 receptions and 81 yards. Can we expect to see more from him in future games?
Coach: We'd like to get all our receivers involved when possible. Patterson did a good job of getting open and making the plays when the ball came his way. We've been working on getting him more involved in the passing game. He's very talented, alot of speed, and very good at extending plays.
Q: Good to see the Viking secure a win. Next week you have the Chicago Bears, a team with a similar style as your own. We know you have a good run defense, but the pass defense has been suspect at times, will your guys be able to keep Royals and Jeffery out of the endzone and maintain a decent offense against their secondary ?
Coach: Yes, we've worked hard at the passing defense and it was one reason we were able to win today against the Cardinals. It will be a tough game, but I think the we have the upper hand in this matchup.
