Welcome The Weekly Ram-Bler. Home of the latest news and updates for your St. Louis Rams.

The Rams look to put the struggles from last season behind them, and start fresh with a couple of additions to this years roster. Rams made additions to positions of need this offseason through free agency and the draft.

Jim Garoppolo is returning from a injury to his shoulder which ended his 2015 season in wk 15. This will be Jimmy's first season ever to be the full time starter at QB in his young career. Jimmy became the full time starter after a trade at the trade deadline last season. Jimmy will look to lead the Rams this season with a balance passing and rushing attack. Jimmy should have more time to find open recievers with a newly re built offensive line.

The Rams are a very young team on offense and defense. The defense played well at times last season, but often struggled to get off the field on big third down situations. They also struggled to force turnovers, and struggled majorly to stop the run. They signed Morris Claiborne in free agency, and traded for S Micah Hyde right before the start of the draft to help out the secondary.

The offense upgraded their offensive line to help open up holes of their big back Todd Gurley. Carl Nicks, Samson Satele, and Uche Nwaneri were all signed through free agency to beef up the o-line. RT Antoino Lamb was drafted 10th overall pick and will be the starting RT for your Rams.

The Rams are eager to get the season starter, and playing in front of a packed stadium. with new additions, and returning players, the Rams will battle this season to make the playoffs in the tough NFC West division. So fans, get out to every home game and cheer your Rams to victory on opening day against the Saints.

Week 1 Recap

The Rams began the season without Todd Gurley due to a hip injury suffered in wk 1 of pre season. Gurley will mis the first 3 wks of the regular season due to the injury. So due to the injury, the Rams signed Trent Richardson to help fill the void and try to re vive Richardson's career.

The Rams came out victorious in their wk 1 by a score of 23-10 against the Saints. The defense played a great game forcing 3 turnovers and sacking Drew Brees 2 times. One of the sacks on Brees was a safety late in the game. Trent Richardson was signed prior to wk 1 and rushed for 2 tds and 68 yds. Jimmy completed 14 of 17 passes for 203 yds 0 tds and 1 int. Jared Cook was the leading receiver with 4 catches for 84 yds. The defense was led by Janoris Jenkins who had 3 tackles and 2 ints. Robert Quinn had 3 tackles, 2 sacks, and a force fumble that turned into a safety. T.J. McDonald returned a fumble, caused by Alec Ogletree, to open up the scoring for the Rams.

The Rams(1-0) look to continue to build on their success in week two as they will host the Buccaneers(0-1). So let's get out to the dome and cheer on our Rams to victory, as the Rams look to begin the season 2-0. The Rams will have a tough test defensively trying to contain the receiver core of the Buccs. Evans, and Jackson will be a handful for the Rams secondary, but this defense is ready for what the Buccs have to offer.

So make plans to come out to the dome and get loud to make it a khaotic scene for the Buccs.

Breaking News

The Rams have traded Tre Mason to the Dallas Cowboys in exchange for the Cowboys 3rd pick in 2017.

Mason was not happy after the Rams drafted Todd Gurley in the 2015 draft. So the Rams felt that Mason was just rotting by not getting much playing time, so they elected to trade Mason to get him more playing time and a fresh start in Dallas. We wish Tre the best of luck and success with his new team and home.

I like the content and the title (ram-bler) lol
For some reason that's the first thing that popped in my head when I was thinking of a title for this. I liked it and went with it. I'm glad you like it, and thanks for the feedback. Hope to keep the content good through the season.

Week 2 Recap

In week 2, the Rams struggled offensively and defensively. In no way did the Rams look like the Rams from week 1.

Even though the Rams struggled offensively to protect Jimmy G, from the Buccs aggressive attacking defense, the Rams were able to fight back and make a game. The Rams defense could not stop the Buccs passing attack. Rams allowed big plays to the Buccs big receivers. The Rams scored a late td and converted a two point conversion to cut the lead to 8 with under a minute left. The Rams attempted a on side kick and successfully recovered it. Jimmy completed a couple of passes to get the ball inside the Buccs 5 yd line, only to forget that they never used their last timeout, and the clock ran out on them. This was Jimmy's worst game as a ram and of his career. His numbers and score don't reflect the bad day jimmy had. The Rams were down double digits throughout the game only to make a late comeback on a couple of big plays. The Rams lose 33-25, and fall to 1-1 on the season.

The Rams have a tough task next week in the division rivals 49ers. The lost both games to the 49ers last season, and look to change that next week. A big division game for the Rams who look to stay close in the NFC West division. This will be the Rams first division game of the season, and look to stop the 49er rushing game in San Francisco.

2017 Season Preview
After a 7-9 finish to 2016, the Rams look to start fresh in 2017. The Rams fired head coach Jeff Fisher, and hired Hector Flohr. Not much is known about Flohr, and he's in charge now of turning this Rams Team around. Owner Antonio Luis is taking a risk with Flohr as his head coach, and is hoping Flohr does get things turned around for the Rams.

Offensively, the Rams are going with their third new starting quarterback in as many years. This year the starting quarter back job belongs to rookie John Mincy. Mincy was drafted 13th overall in the first round, and has done enough in pre season to beat out Jimmy Garoppolo. Garoppolo struggled last season to lead this offense. the offense was worst in the league only averaging 17 pts per game. Garopppolo also was among the league leaders in interceptions thrown. The Rams offense will also feature a one two combo at running back lead by Todd Gurley and David Johnson.

Defensively, the rams will be led by their MLB James Laurinaitis. Jon Bostic was brought in through free agency, and will start at ROLB. Bostic was moved from MLB to ROLB to help fill the open starting job, after realizing there wasn't much depth at that position in the draft. The Rams defense looks to be as good, if not better, than last season. There is a lot of pressure on the defense to keep the Rams in games if the offense struggles like last season. But coach Flohr believes the offense will be much improved.

Season opener
The Rams hosted the Dallas Cowboys in week 1, and gave away a good opportunity to start the season 1-0. Instead the Rams begin the new season with a loss.

The Cowboys brought their high powered offense with a buffet at receivers. The Rams contained the big receivers for a half, but the Rams secondary couldn't keep the big receivers from causing damage, and making big catches.

The Rams offense played well the first half, and took a 14-10 halftime lead. Gurley led the rushing attack with 17 car 115yds and 2tds. Gurley' second td was a 70 yds run up the gut. The offense struggled the second half, and the Cowboys rush defense stuffed gurley in the second half. The Rams were shut out the second half offensively.

Rams defense also played well in the first half, then fell apart in the second half. Big td runs by Manziel and Mason (46 yds, and 61 yds) hurt the defense. Rookie LE Sergio James had 6 tackles, 3 TFL, and a sack in his debut.

Rams look to recover, as they travel to Seattle for their first division game of the year.

Offense top performers:
QB Jony Mincy 13 for 23 152 yds 0tds 1 int
RB Todd Gurley 17 att 115 yds 2tds

Defensive top performers
LE Sergio James 6 tkls 3 TFL 1 sack
MLB James Laurinaitis 7 tkls

Week 2
The Rams went in to Seattle and came away with another loss. Rams are now 0-2 to start the season, and are in desperate need of a win next week.

The Rams offense was mediocre today. Two redzone ints in the endzone killed two key drives. Gurley struggled to get things going on the ground, and Mincy struggled early. Rams were able to tie the game going into the half. A late 4th qtr td to put them down by a td, then couldn't get a stop to get the ball back.

The defense struggled to contain Wilson from scrambling, as he rushed for 66 yds. Lynch added 98 rushing yds and a td. The defense was tired and worn out caused by not getting off the field on 3rd downs.

Rams will travel to Washington, D.C. To take on the redskins. Coach Flohr is looking for his first win as a head coach, and his team is looking for that first W of the season.

Player's Game Stats
QB John Mincy 17 of 32 265 yds 2 tds 2 ints
RB Todd Gurley 12 car 36 yds 0 yds
WR Kenny Britt 4 rec 66 yds
