Cleveland, OH --- We have some breaking news out of Cleveland, as the Browns have traded for star HB Todd Gurley II from the Los Angeles Rams. The detail of the trade are as follows:

Browns Receive:
HB Todd Gurley II

Rams Receive:
2018 Eagles 2nd Round Pick (#39 OVR)
2018 Browns 3rd Round Pick (#94 OVR)

This trade definitely comes as a shock to both fanbases. Todd Gurley has been one of the premier halfbacks in the NFL since he entered the league. He rushed for over 1,100 yards and had 10 TDs in his rookie season, despite only playing in 13 games. He's seen his production dip the last few years, rushing for 885 yards and 6 TD 2 seasons ago, and 846 yards and 11 TDs this past season. Gurley now comes to an organization that boats, arguably, the best offensive line in the league. The Browns are coming off of a season where they led the league in rushing, at over 170 yards per game. Gurley should be elated. Putting a talent like him behind this offensive line is going to work wonders for this offense, especially as DeShone Kizer and the passing game continue to improve.

Gurley only has one year left on his contract, which means Cleveland will be tasked with trying to resign him after the 2018 season, and they have every intention of doing so.

This trade means that Isaiah Crowell, who led the best rushing attack in the NFL, will not be resigned by the Browns. Crowell has had a great few years here in Cleveland, and we'd like to thank him for his numerous contributions to the organization.

Now, entering Free Agency with a new superstar HB, $70M in cap space, and 4 draft picks in the first 2 rounds, it's scary to think that a Browns team who went 13-3 last season will only get better.

For all things Cleveland Browns, stay tuned to The Dawg Pound
