New Owner Big Plans

After many years of being one of finest owned organizations in all of professional sports, Steelers Owner decided it was time to retire as he sold the franchise to young upstart Phil Wombacher. Quickly after all the press and glamour shots were done he quickly got focused on the upcoming free agency class and draft preparation for the upcoming season.

Offensive Explosion

After taking a quick look at the roster it was clear he inherited a very high powered offense only made better superstar QB Ben Roethlisberger. Roethlisberger leads an offense in which has stars all over the field in WRs Antonio Brown, Martavis Bryant, and Randall Cobb. In addition to having arguably the best WR core in the league, last offseason they went out and acquired Pro Bowl RB Devonta Freeman who last year alone accounted for 15 TDs and 1195 yards on the ground. The online place to really worry about an upgrade on offense is TE where the have the oft-injured Ladarius Green and also at LG where 33 year old Ramon Foster is currently playing but on the backside of his career. Barring a Roethlisberger retirement this unit appears to be poised to be one of the best heading into the 2019 season.

Defensive Gameplan

After seeing what looked like a Super Bowl Caliber offense the worry quickly became that the former management team let the defense slip into disarray and lacking any stars. Wombacher was more then impressed with the collection of young talent available to him on defense. With the exception of Cam Heyward at DT not a single starter on D will be over 28 going into next year. The young defensive studs placed on this defense have really impressed the new owner. At CB, Cordrea Tankersley give this defense a shutdown CB something that haven't had in years. At RE, Arden Key is a young stud who in his first year had 15 sacks and will look to improve on that this year. At FS, Jordan Whitehead burst onto the scene last year and had 49 tackles to go along with his 2 INTs, 2 Forced Fumbles, and 2 Defensive TDs. Look for these 3 to try and wreck havoc on opposing offenses next year. WIth that being said there are some clear improvement areas needed on D. The LB core is very suspect and will be a big priority heading into the draft and FA.
