Tulane signings W 12

Tulane needed to sign multiple WR this year due to people leaving. This marks the 3rd WR signed this year. He will more than likely be a back up for a couple years while working on skills.

UNLV SIGNS 5 MORE RECRUITS #89 OVERALL

KennyBrown_zps92f99591.jpg
Kenny Brown is a 6'2 240 pound DE out of Indio, CA. Standout, and defensive captain of his 4A high school team. He has raw power, and can throw OL around like nobody's business. With UNLV having 3 DE graduating, Kenny was someone Coach Gump really wanted to get. He will redshirt his first year so his footwork can improve a bit. Once he gets his feet down, he will be unstoppable.

UNLV landed Matt Poole. As we discussed in the John Scott report Coach Gump was trying to land Poole. Poole is a 6'7 252 pound TE out of Alabama. Poole, like Scott, is more of a receiving threat than a blocker. With the spread offense UNLV is going to run, this is just the type of guy they're looking for. At 6'7 look for Poole to be a HUGE redzone threat. With both TE's graduating from UNLV he will be a true freshman and look to make an impact right away.

Keon Brink is just one of those "do it all guys". He won 2 state championships at Gadsden High in Gadsden, AL. Through his 4 years he broke many records. He played many positions including QB, HB, WR, CB, FS, and SS. He was an iron man athelete and played both sides of the ball every game. He left Gadsden High with records in career passing yards, passing TD, rushing TD, receiving yards, receiving TD, INT, defensive TD, and kick return yards. It is not official what he will play at UNLV, but will most likely be used on the defensive side which is where UNLV needs the most help.

This move shocked alot of people as UNLV went after 2 QB's this year. When asked about it, Coach Gump explained it like this "Well, Sherry is leaving us this year, which leaves Hawthorne and Lebowitz next year who will both be seniors. These guys are both really good young men, they will both redshirt first year and be in a competition along with last year's recruit Aaron Dailey. These 2 QB's are almost identical on paper. While Hammond is better in the pocket, Hill is more mobile and can create plays out of nothing. Only time will tell who will start but it ought to be a fun competition." Some people speculate Coach Gump will try to implement his 2 QB system that he ran with Sherry and Lebowitz 2 years ago that worked so well for him when he went 10-4. Once again here is a look at the other QB who will be battling to be the starter in 2017:
