The 49ers have gone from one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl the past couple seasons to losing 7 pro bowlers, a head coach that brought them to at least the NFC Championships in 3 consecutive years, and a second year promising linebacker. Losing players to surprising retirements (Patrick Willis, Anthony Davis, and Chris Borland), multiple run ins with the law (Aldon Smith), and through free agency the 49ers will have a lot to overcome if they still want to compete in the NFC.
