Mid Season Power Rankings
pack1797

We just passed the midway point in our first season, and needless to say it's been eventful. Big trades(AP as a Dolphin?????), surprising results, and of course, ownership changes out the wazoo. Welcome to online league gaming. Here at PX1Sports, we pride ourselves on playing realistic simulation football, but also on having a good time in the process. majesty95 our founder and commissioner, has set this league up for success, and the owners are enjoying every minute of it. We still have teams available as of this writing, so if you think this is the league for you, by all means sign up and join us.

OK, enough with the shameless plugging, let's talk some football. Power Rankings specifically.

First and foremost, this list is educated opinion at best and far from infallible. So if your team isn't ranked where you think it should be, it's not personal. I don't think anyone has watched every league game, I certainly haven't so I'll be going by record, schedule strength, and margin of victory in most cases. Other issues that will affect the rankings are ownership changes, game locations, etc. So here we go.

1. Baltimore Ravens 8-0 The Ravens are on a tear through the league. While they had some close games early, the difficulty in the AFC North is what gave them the edge here. Even the CPU Steelers are tough.

2. Kansas City Chiefs 7-0 Might as well call them 1a, because the Chiefs point differential is just as impressive. If the road to the Super Bowl ends up going through Arrowhead this year, not many will be shocked. Or they damn well shouldn't be.

3. New Orleans Saints 6-1 The Saints only blemish is an early season loss to the Browns. They currently own the best record in the NFC, along with one of the most prolific offenses in the NFL.

4. New England Patriots 7-1 Big surprise here, right? Tom Brady and Bill Belicheck in the top 5? New England is only 4 points away from an unblemished record. Who beat them you ask, the team at number 2.

5. San Francisco 49ers 5-2 The NFC West leaders are putting together a strong resume this season based around a strong defense and balanced offense. They are the Saints biggest roadblock in the NFC at this point, and home field advantage could play a huge role if things continue as they have.

6. Tennessee Titans 5-3 The Titans are leading the AFC South and have overcome Jake Locker's early struggles to put themselves in the middle of the playoff picture

7. Detroit Lions 5-3 The current NFC north leaders have changed owners this season after their former owner was removed from the league for exaggerated ass hattedness. Look for the Lions to fall off as the season goes on

8 New York Giants 3-4 Ah the NFC East. losing records lead the division. Don't be surprised if Eli and the G-Men make a run come playoff time.

9. Cleveland Browns 5-3 Hello Johnny Football! Since Manziel took over, the Browns have gone on a four game winning streak. Two upcoming games with the Bengals will determine Cleveland's playoff chances.

10. Denver Broncos 4-3 You never count Payton Manning out, unless it's in a foot race. With an improved defense and recievers improving weekly, Expect Denver to be a force in the AFC West for the rest of this season.

11. Cincinnati Bengals 4-3 Like the Browns, the Bengals are trying to catch the Ravens in the standings. A recent change in ownership may see their chances reduced, unless a new owner is found before it's too late.

12. Miami Dolphins 4-3 Another team that had a promising start, only to be caught up in scandal when their owner was killed in a sex toy factory explosion. The Dolphins are loaded with talent on offense, and the right leadership could put them into the mix.

13. Houston Texans 4-4 The Texans are the biggest threat to Tennessee in the South. A dominating defensive line is going to prove problematic for opposing offenses.

14. Carolina Panthers 4-4 The Panthers are either red hot or ice cold. But when they're on, they can play with anybody.

15. Atlanta Falcons 4-4 Part of the log jam in the middle of the NFC South, The Falcons owner has been quoted as saying that the second half of the season is going to belong to the Dirty Birds. With that offense, I'm not gonna count them out.

16 San Diego Chargers 4-4 a come from behind win against the Broncos and a change in ownership has breathed new life into the super Chargers. The rest of the season will tell the tale.

17.Pittsburgh Steelers 4-4 Tough defense, reliable offense, and good coaching will keep the Steelers competitive. Their tough as nails division looks to be too much for them this year however.

18 Philadelphia Eagles 3-4 Only percentage points behind the Giants, the Eagles are prolific on offense and swarming on defense. Ownership issues are holding them back at the moment.

19. Oakland Raiders 3-4 The Raiders are a young team, but a new, energetic owner has fans in the black hole buzzing about great things on the horizon.

20. Seattle Seahawks 3-4 Seattle seems one big game away from lighting up the league. The talent is there, things just haven't fallen their way this season. But the seasons not over yet....

21. Arizona Cardinals 3-4 Questions at quarterback aside, the Cardinals are loaded for bear on defense. A new owner's recent acquisition of the team also adds to the potential this team has for the rest of the year.

22. Chicago Bears 3-5 An injury to Jay Cutler may derail the Bears prolific air attack, but don't count out the monsters of the midway putting together a strong second half.

23. Dallas Cowboys 3-5 Riding a two game winning streak, things are looking up in Dallas. In a wide open NFC East, momentum can carry you to the playoffs.

24. Buffalo Bills 3-5 Another team that is better than it's record indicates. Buffalo will look to put it all together in the second half of the season

25. Washington Redskins 3-5 New ownership will no doubt push this talented team in the right direction. With the NFC East as close as it is, the Redskins can still get into the playoffs with a good second half.

26. Green Bay Packers 3-5 Talk about a let down. The Packers are having the worst season in recent memory. It's rumored their owner is a complete moron.:)

27. Jacksonville Jaguars 3-5 Yet another young team that needs the right leadership to be able to be competitive.

28. Minnesota Vikings 2-6 Since starting Teddy Bridgewater, the Vikings have gone from a team in rebuilding mode to a two game win streak. With a pile of draft picks coming in the draft, the Vikings look to be building towards a strong future.

29. Indianapolis Colts 2-6 The Colts have had a rough year. A new owner is looking to bring some magic back to Indy. Andrew Luck is a good start.

30. St Louis Rams 2-5 With a new owner taking over this young, talented team, the Rams will look to make noise in the second half of the year and build towards next season.

31 New York Jets 2-6 Another team with a vaccum in ownership, the Jets will only go as far as someone is willing to take them

32 Tampa Bay Buccaneers 1-7 The Bucs have had a tough first half of the season, but they have a great owner, so don't expect them to stay at this point in the list for long.

Thanks to all who hung in here to read this damn novella, hope it was entertaining.
