We were worried that maybe EA was going to skip a day in their daily ratings release but alas, we have the Top 6 defensive tackles in Madden 16. Ndamukong Suh leads the pack with a 96 overall followed by Gerald McCoy (95), Marcell Dareus (94), Kyle Williams (93), Aaron Donald (92) and Haloti Ngata (92). Check below for the full release.

NDAMUKONG SUH (96 OVR)
MIAMI DOLPHINS
6’4, 305 POUNDS

Suh’s $114 million contract with the Dolphins is the largest ever given to a defensive player, and he should make an instant impact in Miami. His 98 Strength is best among all defensive tackles, and he also brings 97 PWM/95 POW/95 PUR/92 BKS.

GERALD MCCOY (95 OVR)
TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS
6’4, 300 POUNDS

McCoy is the centerpiece of the Bucs defense, and one of the top pass rushers in the NFL. His 98 Power Move is the best among DTs, and he also has 92 STR/89 TAK/87 BKS/93 PUR.

MARCELL DAREUS (94 OVR)
BUFFALO BILLS
6’3, 331 POUNDS

Dareus and the rest of the Bills’ excellent defensive line should thrive under new head coach Rex Ryan. Marcell is one of the best-tackling DT’s with 95 Tackle, and he also brings 94 STR/92 PWM/94 BKS.

KYLE WILLIAMS (93 OVR)
BUFFALO BILLS
6’1, 303 POUNDS

Buffalo’s defense led the league in sacks and ranked high in every category. Williams still shines with great stats across the board like 90 STR/88 TAK/91 BKS/87 PUR and excellent 94 Play Recognition.

AARON DONALD (92 OVR)
ST. LOUIS RAMS
6’1, 285 POUNDS

The reigning Defensive Rookie of the Year should be even better in year two. His Madden NFL 16 ratings include 93 Strength, 90 TAK/92 PWM/90 PUR with a DT-best 82 Speed.

ALSO 92
Haloti Ngata (Detroit Lions)

----------

Aaron Donald, after just one season in the NFL is already among the Top 5 guys at his position. Buffalo has two of the Top 4 DTs in Dareus and Kyle Williams. That's quite a beefy interior! What do you guys think of the ratings? Anyone surprise you?

It just kind of makes you wonder what criteria they use. I think Poe and Tyron Smith have been the most glaring omissions so far...

Their ratings make 0 sense it's obvious at some positions they really looked at how the players played more recently like last year and reevaluated the position rankings like at wr bumping CJ down and Antonio brown up to #1 then others like DT like they are going off ratings from a year ago.

I read an article last year that mentioned EA just keeps dumping coding on top of coding with very few notes so even the guys at EA can't explain why / how some of the ratings become what they do and why sliders can not be explained ... I'll see if I can find that article

I'd like to see that article and who wrote it bc the basic idea of "dumping code on top of code" doesn't make any sense. You don't layer code.

I also wonder if maybe it applied to the previous gen bc there were far more issues with that generation of Madden IMO. And coding doesn't have anything to do with how somebody manually rates a player.

This group definitely seems different than the others though like priest said. Not sure if a different guy did the ratings or they used different criteria or what. Is weird.
