Following the tragic news last week of the death of former Dallas Cowboys owner/general manager Jerry Jones; the Dallas Cowboys have tagged James Matheson(a.k.a. WalrusSmuglr) as the man to replace the beloved Mr. Jones. As WalrusSmuglr is a newcomer to the league, the scrutiny from the fan base that followed the hire was expected. Fans were seen burning jerseys in the streets, season ticket sales came to a halt, and merchandise sales plummeted. In an effort to calm down the fan base, the Cowboys and Walrussmuglr have issued a statement to the fans.

"While I am Saddened by the loss of such a powerful and inspirational figure, and overjoyed at the opportunity in front of me, I can assure you this; Lombardi Trophy #6 is coming to Dallas. We have the tools, we have the coach. We will make a few moves to strengthen up some of our weaker positions, but i can guarantee this to the loyal Cowboys fans; we're going to win, and win a lot."

The cowboys have also released the following Season Outlook:

Offense
Quarterback
With starting quarterback Tony Romo under center, the cowboys feel like there is no throw they cannot make; no play they cannot call. Romo provides both the THP and the THA to spray the ball all over the field, as well as the SPD to escape almost any situation, or tuck the ball when the defense puts up good coverage and turn the play in to some positive yards. The cowboys will almost immediately release Brandon Weeden and look for other options for the backup role.

Running Back
The cowboys are torn here. While they like both Joseph Randle, and Darren McFadden, they don't feel like either one is a true starting running back. McFadden is the clear cut starter if no starter can be found through FA or trade, and the team is confident they can "make do" with McFadden. The team has shown interest in Bengals running back Giovani Bernard, as well as Chargers rookie Melvin Gordon.

Wide Receiver
When you have a WR like Dez Bryant, the rest of the core can be sub-par and you still put up points. Fortunately for Dallas, the rest of the WR core is well above sup-par. Opposite Dez is Terrance Williams, who can catch the ball in traffic, or take a drag route to the house. In the slot is speedy Cole Beasley who is a TD threat every time he touches the ball. Dallas may be looking for another receiver to spell Terrance and Cole from time to time.
Tight End
The end is drawing near on the Jason Witten chapter of the Cowboys book. With young talent behind him with blocking and catch potential, Dallas will be shopping Witten around, and it looks like Gavin Escobar and James Hannah will be competing for the starting spot.

O-Line
The Dallas O-Line is the best in the league and will remain that way this year. With quality backups in Collins and Bernard, the cowboys have the starters to produce, and the backups to fill in barring an injury.

Defense
D-Line
This D-Line is greatness. Lawrence and Hardy are top notch edge rushers who can use speed to leave the opposing lineman in the dust, or lower their head and bull rush straight through them. Nick Hayden and Tyrone Crawford will be the rock that holds this line together. Both are big men to plug up holes in the middle, and also hold some sack potential.

Linebackers
Doubt looms over this crew. McClain can be a force in the middle, but lacks the speed to really be a play maker. Anthony Hitchens is a decent OLB, but only starting because there is no one on the roster to really make a stab at the spot and make him work for the starting spot. Sean Lee is a brick wall that doesnt let anything get through.....when he isn't injured. Dallas may look for a replacemnt OLB for Lee, move him to middle and run a 3-4, but thats just talk at this point.

Secondary
This is the main concern of the cowboys. The talent is there, but getting them to live up to that talent is going to be a challange. Brandon Carr has the ability to shut down the leagues best WRs, but just hasnt built up the confidence to perform on that level. Orlando Scandrick is a young CB that has a bright future, and the cowboys look for him to continue is growth next year. Morris Claiborne has shown to be a bust over his first few years, he lacks the consistency and the confidence to be the elite CB he was touted as when he was drafted. Byron Jones is a player that could progress to a starter quickly this season. He can hit, cover, and has the size to cover anyone.

my original copy had him found dead with a few strippers, with their 98'SB trophy protruding from his ass but.....that was a bit much.
