Indians are looking to trade Jim Thome (3B) to Pittsburgh (tedstern) for Ross Ohlendorf (SP, AAA), Charlie Anderson (LF, AA), and Mike Wilson (CF, AA) to clean up their negative finances and help their minor league system.

The Pirates agree to this deal, because they are still very much in this wild card race. They are lacking power bats in their lineup and Thome adds a much needed element for them and their pitching that has been solid. Pittsburgh also has the money and it not doing anything else with it atm.
