The Minnesota Vikings have announced their final cuts of the preseason as all teams are required to be at the regular season 53-man limit by Tuesday. The Vikings are actually at 50 players following the cuts. Notable player to get their walking papers were backup RB Toby Gerhard and defensive tackles Fred Evans and Latroy Guoion. While Evan and Guion were clearly cap cuts, the cut of Gerhart caught some by surprise. It is not clear whether the Vikings are going to pursue a different backup in free agency or hand the backup duties to second-year back Joe Banyard. Banyard made in impression in the team's final preseason game going over 100 yards and scoring a touchdown.

    Vikings Cuts

    Toby Gerhart, HB
    Matt Asiata, FB
    Stephen Burton, WR

    Demarcus Love, T
    Latroy Guion, DT
    Fred Evans, DT
    Everett Dawkins, DT
    Brandon Burton, CB
    Jacob Lacey, CB
