Falcons snap losing streak, win on road

Atlanta wins 38-24 on road against stout 49ers
Nothing is given in this league, and Matt Ryan knew that coming into Santa Clara. The falcons took advantage of a reeling squad that lost Kaep early to injury, finding a victory against a potential playoff team. The offense outpaced the 49ers 421- 245 total yards. They were led by the trio of Matt Ryan (126.7 passer rating, 278 yards, 2 TD's), Tevin Coleman (22 rushes, 114 yards, 2 TD's) and Julio Jones (6 rec, 149 yards, 2 TD's). The defense surrendered a big play to Blaine Gabbert on a streak route to Jerome Simpson and allowed a kickoff return TD, but they were stout against the run, holding Carlos Hyde to 34 yards off of 16 attempts. Vic Beasley finally had his coming out party, posting 2.5 sacks and a tackle for a loss. He's starting to look like a fantastic pick for this defense. Charles Godfrey and Jalen Collins also notched interceptions as well as Desmond Trufant, bringin his total to 7 on the year. Trufant is developing into one of, if not the, best corner in the NFL. We all knew he was a shutdown CB, but now he's making an impact in the turnover department and his confidence is soaring. The defense is still allowing too many big plays, but they're very opportunistic and I believe that's all you can ask for at this point in time. Dan Quinn was dealt a rough hand, but he's gotten the most out of it. This victory was monumental because it puts the ATL back in the playoff picture and gives them the edge against San Fran for a wildcard, if it comes down to it. The NFC south is quickly becoming the most competitive division in football as the bucs are 6-2, the Panthers are currently 5-2 with a game pending this week, the saints are 6-3 and the falcons are also 6-3. No game is meaningless, and the falong must earn every W if they want to be in the postseason. Up next is the bye week, a great time for the D to get rested up before squaring off against the colts in what should be a premier matchup
