Falcons bounce back, earn week 5 win

Falcons win 31-13 at home
After an ugly loss at home in week 4 against Houston that saw the offense completely fold in on itself while Matt Ryan had a melt down (sorry for the lack of a write-up for week 4) the Falcons redeemed themselves in week 5. The offense had a very subpar game, posting only 269 yards of total offense. Matt Ryan threw for only 163 yards and 1 td, but had no picks and a passer rating of 107.0. Meanwhile, following a very slow start, Tevin Coleman came on late and finished up with 111 yards off of 26 carries with 2 scores to add on. He's slowly but surely becoming claiming a spot amongst the top RB's and is shaping up as an early ROY candidate. Jones was limited to 2 receptions, but hauled in a nice pass from Ryan for the lone aerial score of the day. Defensively is where this team stood out from the competition as the secondary forced 5 interceptions from Tyrod Taylor (87 passing yards, 1 td, 5 picks, 42.4 passer rating). Interceptions can be credited to Brooks Reed, Jalen Collins (pick 6, first touchdown in the NFL), Ricardo Allen, Justin Durant, and Dezmen Southward. Despite not having an interception, Atlanta's top CB in Trufant had a great game, allowing 0 catches. Atlanta looked reinvigorated on this particular sunday, building on their showings in weeks 1-3 and attempting to forget week 4 to improve to 4-1. Divisional play finally begins next as Atlanta travels to New Orleans to face a fellow NFC south favorite. The game could have major ramifications for the remainder of the race for the NFC south crown, so Atlantas season will truly take on meaning come next week.
