After spending the free agency period attempting to land an upgrade at 3B, the Dodgers went to plan B. They decided to shop some players to see what kind of offers they would get and with the first attempt they chose to shop Weeks. Cincinnati offered us Youkalis in return in what I would assume is an attempt to clear cap space since he isn't their everyday starter. This trade gives us a slight defensive upgrade at 3rd while allowing Stewart to fill the empty hole at first which is where he is more comfortable defensively.
