Cleveland (1-2) falls just short of Jacksonville (3-0) with a 4 point loss. Coach Hue Jackson said of the effort,

"I'll take Drew (Brees) and my offense every time in that situation. Driving inside the redzone with less than 2 minutes left and a chance to win the game. Rashad (Flugence) made a great read and jumped the deep crossing route. Can't win them all, and we build from this game and hopefully will be in that same situation next week."

Although the result seems like Cleveland's offense was humming, they were helped out by Justin Gilbert taking the opening kick off back for a touchdown and a fumble by TJ Yeldon inside Jacksonville's 30. The conservative playing calling, left some fans questioning Jackson's game plan. All in all it was a great effort, despite the defense giving up 38 points and forgetting that Allen Robinson was not wearing orange. Drew Brees finished 15 for 18 with 252 yards, 2TDs to 1INT (the game sealing INT.) For the second straight week the Browns had a newly signed FA score, this week Malcolm Brown scored from 7 yards out. Brown the team's new power back finished with 7 carries for 24 yards and that 1 TD. Duke Johnson, the NFLs leading rusher heading into Week 3, finished with 17 carries for 53 yards. The WR corps saw some great individual plays, one from Jason Clifton on a diving 28 yard catch. It the two weeks Clifton has been on the club he's had a TD in both games. The play of the game for the Browns came on a Slogo to Josh Gordon. Gordon ran past an aggressive Jalen Ramsy and a beautiful touch pass the couldn't be placed any better from Brees lead to a 61 yard TD for Gordon.
