Wow. What. A. Game. 41 - 10 Chargers! #NotGivingUp
Chargers finally get a win at home and boy was it a good one. Storied rivalry between KC and SD, teams are about evenly matched up going back to 1960's record is 55-55-1. However, this year the Chiefs are 0-2 verse SD and SD fans couldn't be happier. Great rivalry, great competition, great game!
SD has decided to bench veteran starter QB Philip Rivers and started Aaron Murray, QB from UGA in this hotly contested rivalry, that may have playoff implications....if SD can continue to win.
Murray was exceptional. 15 for 26, 263 yards, 3TDs, 1 Pick. Second week in a row over 260 yards and a QB rating over 115. In Rivers last 2 years he never had back to back games with a QB rating over 100. This may begin the end of Rivers storied career as a Bolt.
Early in the 1st Quarter he hits Keenan for 1 of his 2TDs.

But, this was a defensive game. Chargers held KC to 77 yards rushing and 57 yards passing. The defense has come a long way from last season and they would love to take it to the playoffs. Alex Smith, the great QB who always looks poised, looked frustrated the whole game. He completed only 5 completions to his receivers and threw for 5 picks for a QB rating of 0.0. Best Defensive performance by SD this year by far.

The Chargers also made a commitment in the off-season to improve the running game and Melvin Gordon has delivered. He completed the game with 23 attempts for 91 yards and 1 TD, bringing his season total to over 1200 yards and a league leading 14 TDs. The commitment is paying off and is allowing the Chargers to have a much improved 3rd Down conversion ratio at 51% AND a currently winning season at 9 wins and 5 losses.
