We all should be creating an owner and selecting "former owner" as our storyline when doing so. You can then name your owner anything that you would like (most people are choosing actual players or fictional players from TV). In the event that you forgot to create your owner or select a former athlete, here is how you can fix it once we advance to preseason:
Press
to go to the "TEAM" tab.
Press on "MANAGE ROSTER"
Scroll right using and press on "RETIRE"
Press down and hit on "Create a New Character"
Select "Crete an Owner" and select "Former Athlete"
