Can New Ownership Save This Franchise?

New owner, S. Owens already knew that taking over a 4-12 team would be a tall task but heading into the off-season, this appears to be more than he may have bargained for. Reportedly, there are 19 free agents that are refusing any further negotiations with the team. When asked about the lack of returning players, Owens stated, "If they don't want to play here and help this team win football games, we don't need them anyways". He went on to say "we were a 4-12 team and players from that 4 win team want to leave... are we really losing much"?

With only a few truly talented players, a heavily depleted roster, a rookie owner and no real trade bait, can Owens really find a way to piece together a decent roster? Only time will tell, but they have over 70 million in available funds with around 30 million in cap space and the 3rd overall pick in the upcoming draft, so let's see what happens in the Motor city.
