Arizona Cardinals owner blewberries announced last night that NFL sack leader Calais Campbell has been suspended for the first 8 games of the 2015 season and the entirety of the 2014 playoffs due to violating the league's substance abuse policy. Mr. Berries was contrite in his apology and asked that Mr. Campbell's transgressions not be held against him or his team.

The alleged violation was in regards to Mr. Campbell's surging sack numbers and span of seven sacks in two games. Mr. Berries expressed sincere remorse for his part in what is becoming a league wide epidemic and specifically asked for the 8-game suspension including playoffs.

League officials were surprised at the young owner's accountability and league first mentality. Commissioner majesty95 had this to say when asked about the situation:

"It is very easy for people to make excuses for their actions and hide behind this stat or that circumstance. But Mr. Berries has shown great maturity for such a young owner. He has made some mistakes in his short tenure with the league but has always been open to feedback and always accepted accountability for his actions. We need more owners like that in our league. Only good things can come from owners who put the league's interest above their own."

Mr. Berries' Cardinals are currently slotted for the first wild card berth in the NFC and are expected to face the Detroit Lions in the first round of the playoffs. Continuing coverage of the league playoffs can be found at the league's DaddyLeagues site.
