Baltimore has agreed to send 3B Ramon Urias, RP Jordan Lyles, and RP Angel Vargas to Kansas City in exchange for RP Carlos Hernandez and RP Cruz Noriega. Baltimore is in a rebuild and needs RP help immediately and prospects for the future and also to dispatch of some unsavory contracts. Lyles in on a hefty contract and would be waived next season with the team option so this helps Baltimore free up more money to trade for higher value prospects. Urias is on the spot for an upgrade later in the season and Baltimore has already called up depth for the 3B position with better offensive capabilities. Noriega is not projected to be in the bigger picture for Baltimore. This trade gives Kansas city immediate MLB backup at 3B and improves their bullpen by adding Lyles.

Approve. Urias as a 2B is pretty fair value for Hernandez as a SP. Hernandez also has some risk with a decent bit left to develop at an older age.

I vote yes just because Lyles and Urias have both been having fantastic seasons so far. Hernandez has potential but hasn’t performed well in AAA this season and at 24 years old, he might not hit that potential playing like he is. I think it’s a fair trade off.
