Miami- After a tough season concludes here in Miami at least we can say, it's over. The Fins wrap up the season with a losing record of 7-9. First year owner Tiger Boyd was clearly hoping for a better outcome.

"This team has heart. We lost some very close games this year that could have easily gone our way. We'll get back to work and continue plugging away, we'll get there." Owner Boyd

We surely hope so.. That seems to be the general point of view around here locally in Miami. The fans in Miami are die hard which lately they've had to be. Can the Fins give these loyal fans more to cheer about soon? We shall see.

The Dolphins started out the year with four straight losses to the Saints, Bills, Chiefs, and Chargers. In weeks 2 and 3 against the Bills and Chiefs the Dolphins were dismantled being out scored 64-16. Clearly some changes had to be made in week 4 during their bye week. The Fins were more competitive in week 5 against the Chargers but the effort still resulted in a 19-7 loss.

In week six the Fins were finally able to slide into the win column with a win on the road in Buffalo. They followed that up by dominating the Patriots in their house in week seven 38-6. The week seven performance had to be the most impressive win this year, it seemed as if the organization and team were finally on the right track.

However this wouldn't last long though as the team dropped the week 8 game at home against the Raiders. Week nine was a Monday night game against the division rival Jets on the road at MetLife Stadium where the Dolphins picked up another divisional win. But yet again in the following week they lost to the Patriots at home which ended any hopes any fans had left of making a playoff debut.

In the last seven games of the season with the exception of week fifteen when the Buccaneers routed the Dolphins 45-13, the games were decided by three points or less!!! Fins beat the Jets by one, lost to the Super Bowl contending Falcons in an absolute shootout 48-45. They beat the Browns by one, followed that up with a win against the Panthers by two. In Week 16 and 17 the Dolphins beat the Colts by 3 and lost to the Broncos by two. Is it safe to say for the most part the Dolphins seemed to play at the level of their competition? Maybe next year the Fins can march to the beat of their own drum. Maybe next year we can see a winning season. Maybe next year the Dolphins can contend for a wildcard. Maybe this, Maybe that, one thing is for sure if the Dolphins can't put together a winning season next year the fans and ownership will be looking for new leadership and a new approach to get things accomplished. As a fan told me earlier this week this 7-9 bull**** has to go. Til next time Dolphin Faithful. Thanks for the read.
