NHL 17 Discussion

Anyone else planning on getting it? I'm probably one of the minority whose favorite sport is actually hockey. I look forward to this game almost as much as Madden. I know there's no connected franchise, but would be fun to get EASHL going.

I'm a huge hockey fan. Bums me out that they still haven't added GM connected back in. With the beta for 17 right around the corner, Burns and I were planning on starting up an EASHL club.

The thing about EASHL is you can only play on 1 team. If you want to play for another you have to leave your current team and join another. I'm not sure if it's still a thing but I know they used to make you wait 24 hours before you could join a new team once you leave your old one.

Ahh, that kinda sucks. Guys have multiple groups of friends. They shouldn't be pigeonholed into playing with just one group

Yeah that's the issue. With ProAm on 2k you don't get pigeonholed like that. You just get an invite to someone's MyCourt and they can search for a ProAm game with whoever is in their MyCourt as their squad. There are some issues with that like your record and jerseys won't be the same with everyone cause you need that one person to always be there hosting or else you'll be using the jerseys and record of a different host. With EASHL, as long as you have any 2 players from the team online you can play games. Of course with competitive teams that's an issue because it could be the 2 worst players who just want to play and they lose all 7 games they play.

NHL is the main game I play and do it extremely competitively. Madden is for fun and stress relief. It you are just a typical NHL versus or HUT guy then I I'm not the guy to talk to. However if you are a eashl 6s guy then I can tell you I have been playing in the most competitive online 6s league even with over 3000 people, 30 nhl, 30 ahl, 60 chl, and they are just bringing in echl this upcoming season to handle over flow of people. Each team has 17 man rosters (9F, 6D, 2G) with contracts and salary with caps. Scheduled game times and everything. It's the real deal when it comes to competitive hockey. If you play nhl and don't play in the league then most people consider you a bum. It's filled with talent and the best players rise to nhl while others craft their destiny in ahl or chl.

League games are between 830pm-1100pm depending on level you are in. 9 games per team are played a week. (3 per skater, 6 max goalies, 3 min all roster player)

I'll tell you more if interested. But all new players are required to play chl their first season regardless of skill to prevent superstar players from 2nd tagging to get low salary)

They got rid of the waiting period. You can freely club hop or just make a 2nd tag and use one of your tags to keep you in certain club while other tag freely hop around.
