The Browns have been playing great football lately winning 3 out of the last 4 games, and one big reason to that is WR Andrew Hawkins. Hawkins has always been deemed as "undersized" to be a #1 or #2 receiver in the NFL standing at 5'7 180 pounds. One thing he has going for him is great field vision and SPEED. Andrew went undrafted in 2008, and started his career playing in the CFL. He played for the Montreal Alouettes. In 2 seasons he had 41 catches, 457 yards, and 5 touchdowns.

While playing for the Alouettes he never gave up on his dream of playing in the NFL and competed on Michael Irvin's reality show 4th and Long in 2009. The winner wins a spot on the Dallas Cowboys roster. He would come to be runner up before losing to Jesse Holley. After competing he would sign with the St. Louis Rams in 2011, but was waived before he even played a game. Bengals claimed him off waivers after the Rams released him, and that's where his NFL career began! in 2012 he had his breakout season totaling, 51 receptions, 531 yards, and 4 TD. Unfortunately, in 2013 he suffered a serious ankle injury and missed the whole season, he would not return to Cincinnati.

That led him to his home here at the Dawg Pound!! Being the Bengals rivals, they saw alot of Hawkins and liked that they saw. They would offer him the big contract! The contract consisted of 4 years, $13.6M and a $3.8M signing bonus. In Hawkins first season with the Browns in 2014 he would accumulate 63 catches, 824 yards, and 2 TD. He immediately became one of the Browns go to guys with Gordon being out.

Hawkins had a slower than expected start in 2015. Through the first 5 weeks he had 11 catches for 207 yards and 2 TDs. He just wasn't himself and you could tell. Defenses were bottling him up, and he just couldn't seem to break free. He has been a crucial part in the Browns streak latley. In the last 4 games he has 14 catches, 354 yards, 3 touchdowns, and the biggest stat of all 203 yards RUN AFTER CATCH. This is Hawkins specialty, he'll take a 5 yard dump pass and take it for huge yards. He has been getting open alot more in the last 4 weeks, and producing. He is currently leading the Browns in receiving yards over Josh Gordon. This speaks volumes for this guy, and he is going to keep going until defenses figure him out. One thing is for sure. When Hawkins game is on, the Browns are winning. Let's hope this trend continues! Here is some highlight film of Hawkins over the past few weeks!
