Well the preseason is underway and we have a few new faces to watch with this Carolina team. And a few faces that have been in Carolina blue, now missing. We're gonna start with the missing players.

TE Greg Olsen was not resigned. His age, declining numbers, and the contract he wanted sealed his fate. He is not the only long time Panther missing. C Ryan Khalil, OLB Shaq Thompson, WR Devin Funchess, and RB Cameron Artis-Payne are also no longer with the team. All these players will be missed but the front office decided they wanted to go in another direction.

With the departure of these players, Carolina had a decent amount of cap left for free agency. They addressed the O-Line with the signing of OT Alex Boone and C Russell Bodine in free agency. They also picked up TE Josh Hill to make up for Olsens departure. The rest of the free agents signed are, DE William Gholston, RB Duke Johnson JR, CBs Josh Shaw and Christian McAllister, DT Jake Replogle, and QB Austin Davis.

On Draft night, the Panthers front office didn't believe they had to go for a certain position. Instead they wanted to go for best player available. They had 1 pick in all 7 rounds. Here's the recap...
1. LG Noah Cheek
2. LE Khyri Rhodes
3. RB Walter Leblanc
4. WR Khrystian Key
5. OLB Willie Chester
6. OT Nate Blanton
7. OLB Dillon McNeill

The Panthers also signed OL, Alvin Bailey before their first preseason game.
