The big news in LA is the arrival of Jimmy Garrapalo. The former backup for New England is with the Chargers now and looking to compete for the starting position. He's having to compete with Rivers, a veteran for the Chargers, and a rookie Garrett Tebow (cousin to former Florida Gator Tim Tebow). Garrapalo stated that he was "anxious to get started and see if he'll be able to lead the team.

In other news, up to 7 rookies will be getting playing time in the pre-season to assess their worthiness to the team. Center Frank Ragnow, a first round pick out of Arkansas, shows promise to get the starting position with his superior strength and run blocking skills. Also picked up were Auden Tate from FSU and Hunter Renfrow from Clemson. Both wide outs look to make their mark on the teams already deep wide receiver core.

In the backfield for the chargers comes the 3 headed beast of Melvin Gordon, Eddie Lacy, and rookie from Alabama Bo Scarborough. Another rookie, Dominique Brown, looks to try and bring the thunder as well trying to make the team in the pre-season.

Other rookies looking to make a mark are Jared Kane, a big red zone threat, and Mack Joseph who has blistering speed and could possibly help on special teams or possibly get behind the secondary and make some plays.

The rookies on the defensive side of the ball are inside linebacker Roquan Smith and cornerback Aaron Davis, both from the University of Georgia.

Before you ask, yes, we are still in the soccer stadium but we ask that you come out and support your Bolts as we look to contend this season!

GO BOLTS!!!
