Major League Gaming announced on Wednesday that they will be moving to the Xbox One console for all of their online 2k and 5k Call of Duty: Ghosts tournaments. MLG also stated that Xbox 360 Ghost Ladders will no longer impact their Pro Points Rankings.

The official release is below:

MLG would like to announce that all online 2K and 5K Call of Duty: Ghosts Tournaments, run by MLG or UMG, will be moving to Xbox One as the default console.

Also, this week (NA = Tuesday, EU = Thursday) will be the last time Xbox 360 Ghosts Ladders impact the Pro Points Rankings. The Pro Points Rankings released on Tuesday, July 15th (NA) and Thursday, July 17th (EU) will be the first to incorporate Xbox One Ghosts Ladders.

Anymore updated rules that effect all 2K and 5K Tournaments will be posted at a later date. Be sure to follow us on Twitter @MLG for the latest updates.

While I'm sure PlayStation fans and, possibly Sony proper, would have liked to see the professional gaming organizer incorporate the PS4, this really doesn't come as a surprise since MLG has been exclusive with Xbox through much of their short history.

This does raise the question though, are you more or less likely to try and become a professional gamer now? :)
