Those of us in Dallas/Fort Worth have gone through the two-step the Rangers and Nolan have been playing for over a year. Everyone though Nolan was going to be forced out a year ago when it was reported that he and GM Jon Daniels didn't see eye to eye. Apparently, now Nolan is "retiring" which is a convenient way for this to end. I'll admit, it was smart of they decided to do this last year to alleviate the public outcry that certainly would have came. However, I do think that Nolan played a HUGE role in building the Rangers into the teams they are and have been recently. Not many within the state of Texas think that the club will be better off in the future with out the state icon at the helm.
