NFC WEST
5-9

I recently caught up with the new owner of the Seattle Seahawks and had a 1 on 1 conversation to talk about their dismal year, and what needs to be done to turn it around!

  • Coming off a Super Bowl with the great last season, and being at 5-9 as your first season with this team, how has the media in Seattle and the fans reacted towards you? How are you handling this?
"Fans and media are wondering what happened as well as they should be. I think they are afraid that the losing trend will be back like years past. We all know this is not what is expected of seahawks football and assure everyone we will be back next year!"

  • You have the number two defense in the league, yet the worst offense in the league. What does your team need to do to rebound to get back to the high caliber team it was just a year ago?
"This team hung their hat on defense last year and it worked I think we relied to much on the defense to carry us and it backfired this year as our record shows. We have to put more points on the board next year. My goal is for us to out score teams next year and take the pressure off our defense."

  • Wilson currently has 2,000 yards with 8 touchdowns and 21 interceptions. Alot of talk has been spreading about Russell being overrated. How has he responded to these talks, and has this put a negative effect in the locker room and on the field?
"Russell has definitely struggled this season but he has been a pros pro about it every step of the way. He's still our leader and captain and he more then anyone can't wait to start fresh and prove to everyone we are no one hit wonder."

  • With having the worst offense in the league, and only haveing 6 rushing TD all year, how does the future look here for your OC? Fans have been calling for his head on a platter. How has the staff reacted?
"When your offense struggles the way ours did of course you'll hear the chatter of what needs to change. Every avenue will be looked at to improve next year and if change is what we need that may happen. We have to do what's right for the team not what pleases the fans."

  • Percy Harvin is your leader in receiving yards and the captain of this WR crew. How has he been as a role model for young star Jermaine Kearse? In Kearse's 2nd year he is 3rd in rec. yards for the team, and 1st in rec TD among the rec crew. Things are looking bright for this young WR.
"Percy has been very positive. I think Sidney has been more of a role model for all the receivers especially when he missed a few games they seen that passion in him that rubbed off on everyone. We're hoping kearse will be what we need next year to help Russell get back to elite qb status next year if not we will certainly be looking."

  • Richard Sherman is the face of your team. Always in the media, always being talked about, and he backs up his own talk on the field. This year he had 6 INT with 2 TD. Has any pressure fallen on him to perform better due to the team's lackadaisical performance?
"Richard is definitely one of the faces of not only the seahawks but the NFL. He takes on all challenges and never backs down. He's a cornerstone of what we want to do here and he knows that. The pressure hasn't just been on him but the entire defense. They have had us in every game. No one has scored over 20 points on this defense that is amazing! That's why we are so optimistic for next year a few tweaks and we're right back in the hunt next season."

Before we go, do you have anything else to say to the media, the fans, or the league?

"The season isn't over yet we will use what's left of this season to prepare for a better run next year. We will be back!! Go Hawks!!!"

As you can see this new owner, rkjones217, is determined to get this team back on track. Even though they have been eliminated from the playoffs, he is still looking to win out and play for pride and development to get the fierce seahawks back on track!
