Opening day for the Chargers and the rest of the NFL in this 2016 Season. Chargers started weak with 2 early turnovers and trailing by 17 points. Chargers roared back in the 2nd quarter scoring 28 points, creating an 11 point lead, then go quiet for 2 quarters and lose the game by 4.
Heartbreaking loss as the offense couldn't get any 2nd half rhythm. However, the Falcons made it deep into the playoffs last year and are a great team.
Julio Jones broke 4 tackles on one play and scampered in for a score. If you missed it, here it is again: http://www.twitch.tv/lyric4christ/v/23949847. Even if you aren't a Falcons fan, it is an impressive run after catch by a one of a kind player. However, the Chargers were able to hold Julio to under 60 yards as this is his only highlight. Good Job Bolts!
Speaking of defense. Manti Te'O had 9 tackles, 1 sack and a pick! Great player. Great opening game. Defense played their hearts out. Offense failed on 70% of 3rd down conversions and that must change. Defense was on the field too long and just couldn't hold the powerful Falcons down. Next time, Gadget!
As a team, the Chargers had 4 Sacks and 2 picks. Much improved over last season. Hopefully the defense can continue and the offense can complete drives and this season has the hopes of being much improved.
