Tampa Bay Buccaneers Offense Preview
Quarterbacks

Obviously, Famous Jameis is QB1 on the depth chart entering his second season in the NFL. In his rookie season he became the youngest player in NFL history to throw for 4,000 yards and tied the record for most passing touchdowns in a game while also setting the Buccaneers' franchise records for most passing touchdowns in a game, most passing touchdowns and passing yards by a rookie and most rushing touchdowns by a quarterback. Even though Winston had a spectacular rookie season people are going to expect more and expectations will continue to rise for the former first overall pick. His backup is Mike Glennon who is entering his 4th season in the NFL, all with Tampa Bay. Glennon was the team's starter for the majority of 2013 and only 6 games in 2014. During that time he compiled a record of 5-13 and throwing for 29 touchdowns and 15 interceptions but only completing 58.8% of his passes. The Giraffe definitely won't be pushing Winston out of the starting job but he is a formidable backup.

Half Backs

This group is led by former Boise State running back Doug Martin. He is an absolute wrecking ball on the field. Martin can run you over, toss you to the side, is quick enough to make people miss and has enough speed to out run defenses as well. He's an all around great back and is complimented nicely by Charles Sims III. Sims doesn't have the power that Martin does but he's shifty and is a quality pass-catching back who will get the job done. This duo is a great weapon for the Buccs to have to help open up the passing game for Winston as well. The rest of the backs are Mike James, Storm Johnson and Peyton Barber. James is in his fourth year, Johnson in his third out of UCF and Peyton Barber is an undrafted rookie out of Auburn. They'll all be competing for the third spot on the depth chart.

Wide Receivers

Like I mentioned in a previous article, this position is very top heavy. Mike Evans is a certified G and a bonafide stud and on the other side is veteran wide out Vincent Jackson. Both of these guys are big, physical receivers who can go up and get it which makes them extremely dangerous in the red zone. However the rest of receiving core is a bunch of unproven, young guys and Louis Murphy who's hit his ceiling and his ceiling isn't very impressive. Look out for Kenny Bell, Adam Humphries and Russell Shepard to compete with Louis Murphy for the third and fourth receiver jobs. Bell is entering his second season out of Nebraska and is looking to prove himself after he spent his rookie season on IR with a hamstring injury he suffered in the preseason. Plus you can't count out a man with an afro. Shepard entered the league as an undrafted free agent with Philadelphia in 2013 and has since been a stud on special teams for Tampa Bay since being claimed off waivers. Now the former LSU Tiger has a chance to prove he can be a quality receiver as well. Humphries is entering his second season in the NFL after catching 27 balls for 260 yards in his rookie season out of Clemson.

Tight Ends

Austin Seferian-Jenkins, the third member of The Dunkaneers, highlights Tampa Bay's tight end group. He's entering his third season in the league and is coming off a season where he had 338 yards on 21 receptions and 4 touchdowns. Harvard man, Cameron Brate, has impressed in training camp as a pass catcher and a blocker and he could be getting a decent amount of snaps this season as the number two tight end.
