The playoffs role into Baltimore this week and it comes in the form of the San Dieago Chargers.The Chargers come in off a upset win over the New England Patriots.With the defense coming up big in the second half getting key turnovers too allow Nick Novak to seal it in the closing moments.The Chargers are a hot team. This team went 5-2 after there bye week add that to a road win in New England this is a confident team.When asked how his team would handle the loss of Phillip Rivers and Ryan Mathews in such a big game the headcoach said"We need to play our style of football to have a shot to win.Our defense is improving every week and will need to step up big this time around.Last time we saw these guys,they got the better of us so we need to learn from our mistakes and play better."The Chargers have been riding the solid play of Kellen Clemens who seems to be gaining the confidence of the players around him.With Danny Woodhead doing his usual steady work in the backfield the offense moved the ball when they needed to against the Patriots and will try again on Saturday.On the other side of the ball the middle of the field has been controled by Donald Butler.While the back end under the watch of one of the best free safeties in the league Eric Weddle.This defense is clicking at the rite time.
On Saturday those before mentioned Chargers will be tested by a Ravens team that hasn't played any meaningful football in over three weeks.The Baltimore Ravens have been one of the best ball clubs in the league over the course of the season.So it leaves us too wonder if this team can just turn it on when they need too.The Ravens boasts one of the top ranked defenses in the league led by a core of veterans this defense can take a game over.Rookie Cj Mosley has been far more than excepted this year and with Lardarius Webb playing at an all pro level this is a championship defense.When asked if the Ravens would come out rusty on Saturday the owner Neal Konvict said"I have been at every practice this week and I assure you that rust will not be an issue.Our goal here is simple win Saturday and keep this thing rolling to the super bowl."The Ravens offense led by Joe Flacco will look to move the ball on a Chargers defense that even with the improved play of late still finished in the middle of the pack in overall defense.With weapons a plenty the Ravens should keep the crowd on there feet and M&T Bank rocking as the fans of Baltimore are a custom to big games.
