After the 2015 season, it was pretty clear two major components were lacking, an offensive line and receivers that were able to make the big plays. The Vikings struggled moving the ball offensively a problem. To address these issues, a few roster changes were made during the off season.

Cut:
WR Charles Johnson was let go. After a disappointing season, and output from Johnson felt his skills would be better utilized elsewhere.

WR Adam Thielen.

HB Matt Asiata. A strong third string, but with Peterson nearing the end of his career, it was felt that a new back with stronger potential needed to be brought in.

CB Terrence Newman, he was retiring after a long successful career.

FB Zach Line. Needed better run blocking support in this position.

TE Rhett Ellison.

LG David Yankey, felt his performance last year was less than expected.

RG Mike Harris. Last year of his contract and was not renewed.

ROLB Chad Greenway. Last year of his contract and was not renewed.

New Comers:
WR Jermaine Kearse
, picked up to give us a strong group of wide receivers that could make the tough catches.

WR Rueben Randle , also picked up to improve our wide receiver group.

RG Jeff Allen, Fill in to give us a stronger presence on the right side.

CB Alfonzo Dennard, a replacement for Terrence Newman.

FB Jerome Felton, a veteran player that has played for the Vikings in the past and very familiar with our offense and should provide the skilled run blocker needed.
