Q: Good job on getting the win. Little different offense, Adrian Peterson was not handling any running assignments. Why was that? Is he hurt ?
Coach: No Peterson is fine. End of season, wanted to get some gametime for McKinnon and Asiati .
Q: Can you give us your assessment of today's win?
Coach: I was pleased overall with our teams performance. Both McKinnon and Asiati did well on the run game. The defense controlled their rushing and and kept their passing offense in check for the most part. We did give up a few big pass plays, needed to keep tighter coverage on Beckham. Bridgewater struggled a bit, the 2 interceptions, one of them being a pick 6 is what allowed them to stay close. So we still have work to do, but they did pull out the win, and at the end of the day that is what we are here for, to get the win.
Q: The Giants this year have not exactly been a powerhouse, with only 1 win this season. However, they kept it close and for a moment looked like they could pull an upset. Does that seem concerning to you that your team struggled at times against a team, that most would think you would dominate?
Coach: No, not really. regardless of their record, they have a great quarterback and big talent in their receivers with Beckham,Cruz and Donnell. These guys have potential to take a game away if you take them for granted. So we need to always keep our game plan in mind and objectives of controlling the ball on offense and keeping them out the endzone on defense. We did that, had a few mistakes that cost us, and made it closer than it should have been. We'll work on minimizing the mistakes.
Q: Next week you have the Packers, a team that has given you problems in the past. What are you looking to do for this last game of the season ?
Coach: We plan on coming out and playing hard as we always do. They are still a division rival, so the guys take this game a little personal regardless if it really does not meaning anything in terms of playoff. However, if we can spoil their chances or make for a bad day for them, we are looking to do that. Should be a good game either way.
