It's around the midway part of the season so we thought we'd take a look at the newest batch of rookies and rate the top 5.
1. Ezekiel Elliott
Elliot came into the season with a lot of hype. With the chance to start early and run behind one of the best lines in the NFL, most experts though he could be a breakout rookie. He hasn't failed to live up the hype so far. He's totaled 613 rushing yards on 112 carries, for a nice 5.5 yards average. His 613 yards are good for 8th in the NFL. His 6 TDS are also tied for 8th best. He's shown to have a very balanced run game. Shown by his 119 yards after contact and a long rush of 68 yards. He seems to be able to grind out yardage and take it to the house for 6. Elliott has also shown the ability to help out in that pass game also. He's hauled in 14 passes for 102 yards. Elliot right now is looking like a strong candidate for offensive rookie of the year.
2. Jared Goff
The #1 overall pick in the draft hasn't disappointed the Rams fans yet. He has definitely looked like the future star QB that you are hoping for when you select him at #1. There has been a few throws he has made that are typical for rookie QBs. But for the most part Goff has been impressive. He has 1,587 yards through the air so far. He also has 12 TDS, which is good for 6th best in the NFC. He also has 3 TDS on the ground so far this season. If Goff can improve on his completion % (60%) and extend his TD to interception rating (12-11), and could give Elliott a run for his money on the OROY race.
3. Corey Coleman
Coleman has surprised many experts so far in his rookie season. Being a rookie for the Cleveland Browns is never a good start to a career. But Coleman has shown it doesn't matter what team he plays for. He leads the Browns in all receiving categories. His 34 catches and 563 yards are good for 13th best in the NFL. He's just out of the top 5 in TD receptions also with 6. If Coleman had a steadier QB and team around him these numbers would be better. But the speedster from Baylor is still putting up some very nice numbers in his first season.
4. Will Fuller IV
Pick by the Texans to take some of the attention off DeAndre Hopkins, Will Fuller has done just that. Teams are not able to just double team Hopkins anymore with the way this rookie is making plays. He second on his team with 27 catches for 494 yards. But he is first in touchdown catches with 4. He as also showed big play potential with his long play being a 78 yard reception. With Fuller's emergence as a legit threat, this Texans team seems to be one of the best young offenses in the league.
5. Keanu Neal
The lone defensive player on the list. The rookie from Florida has been a tackling machine for the Falcons. He has 45 tackles so far this season and 2 of those have resulted in fumbles. He also recovered one of those fumbles. For a Safety he has shown good coverage skills also. He has 2 pass deflections and has only allowed 2 completions so far. Right now he is 3rd on the list for defensive rookie of the year, but the way he has been playing he might just take home the award by seasons end.

Devontae Booker - 380 rush yards, 7 TD, 4 catches for 85 yards
DeForest Buckner - 31 tackles, 5TFL, 4.5 sacks, 1 fumble forced
Josh Doctson - 25 catches, 464 yards, 4 TDS
