Tigers Send:

2B Jorge Cantu MLB 3.5*
1B Erubiel Durazo MLB 2.5*

Cardinals Send:

2B Rafael Furcal MLB 3*
SP Michael de la Cruz A 3*
1 million Cash

Tigers are sending 2B Jorge Cantu to the Cardinals for Rafael Furcal and Michael de la Cruz. Cantu is the best player in this deal, but Furcal is pretty close behind him and de la Cruz is a developing SP spec who has a future in the middle of the rotation if not better. This trade will help Detroit in the future by giving much needed talent into the minors along with giving them a respectable replacement for Cantu, along with helping St. Louis try to improve this year. Durazo and 1 mil cash are to even out financials.

Cardinals agree, we need try and shake things up and have decided to trade for Cantu who shuold provide much needed help on offense while providing some solid defense

Maybe I’m missing something but doing the math it looks like the Tigers will still be over budget even if the Cards give 1 mil in cash

Actually, de la Cruz is out for 4 months so I'm not processing yet to confirm both parties still agree and if trade committee has any objections knowing that
