New Owner, Big Loss

Welcome to the first episode of the Dirty Bird Chronicles. We will be covering the Atlanta Falcons weekly transactions, games, and everything Dirty in the ATL.

When first talking to new owner, Phillip Wombacher this weekend he mentioned that he wanted to test these players this week in Tampa Bay as the team looked to improve to 3-0. The team responded in a big way with a 30-23 Victory against the division rival. Matt Ryan and the pass offense looked ready to play as he led the team with 335 yards,3 TD's, and an impressive 128.5 Passer Rating. Surprise young WR Justin Hardy led the team in receptions and yards with 6 catches for 102 and a TD. The biggest news to come out of this game was the loss of Julio Jones in the 2nd quarter. X-Rays after the game confirmed the teams biggest fears as he has a broken left hand and will be out for 8 weeks. When asked about the All-Pro Loss, QB Matt Ryan replied, "Obviously, we are extremely saddened to hear the news that Julio will sidelined for a while as he recovers from the broken hand. You know as a team we have a next man up mentality and I think that showed today as we had guys step up and not miss a beat." The team will look to continue its winning ways next week against Green Bay.
