season review

Heading into this season there was a lot of unknowns to be had taking over this team. There was many ups and downs through out the season. We had high hopes going into the season of maybe a Super Bowl run. We ended up 2 games short of the goal but learned a lot a long the way that will help us moving into next year. We will look to improve on our 13-3 record and divisional round playoff birth going into next year and really the sky is the limit with our roster. We will look to add depth and maybe a few more key pieces in this coming up free agency and draft.

BREAKDOWN.

QB: Trevor Siemian couldn't stay health and was only able to throw 100 passes in 6 games played before he got hurt in week 1 and 11. Chad Kelly won the back up job during the preseason and filled in and did a pretty good job for the most part. He would have some arrant throws every now and then but he is a rookie and has room to grow. Going into the off season we will see what options out there going into next year for QB.

RB: This was one of the bright spots of the team. C.J. Anderson lead the league in rushing yards with 1675. He also found the end zone 16 times. Jamaal Charles was a very solid back up in his first year in Denver netting 657 yards and 6 TDs. The rookie Devontae Booker stepped in when needed and played very well and will fight for carries going into next year.

WR: Our reciving core did a very good job helping out the rookie QB. Surprise 4th year pro Bernie Fowler took a big step up and lead the team in receiving yards at 1020. The veterans Thomas and Sanders were right behind him with 956 and 895 respectfully. Sanders lead the team with 9 receiving TDs.

OL: We had ups and downs people getting hurt quite often and not holding blocks for long enough. Overall the line did decent enough but will look at what we can upgrade on going into next season.

DL: Derek Wolfe lead the charge with 13 sacks on the year and 2 forced fumbles. Other than that the other guys did pretty solid and did what they were asked to do. We are looking into maybe going to a different look next year moving to a 4-3 so things might get shaken up.

LB: Our backing core was very very solid this season. Brandon Marshall lead the way with 73 tackles and 7ints. Von Miller added 12 sacks off the edge but with the defense maybe going to a 4-3 he might be moved to DE next year. Shaquil Barrett was another stand out for our defense with 7 sacks and 2 ints.

DB: The corners Harris and Talib were monsters all year. Roby came in on the nickle and played very well when called on getting 4 ints. Safeties were inconstant at times and let some big plays happen. Going into next year their play will have to improve a lot if we want to make it further in the playoffs.

Looking forward to next year and keep going up and up. A lot of good talent in the league and cant wait to improve my skill playing them.
