Ok guys. Here's a rundown of what to expect for the offseason. We are going to shorten the days for free agency from what he had planned on originally so guys can get a little more in before they leave town for the holiday. We are still planning the draft for Sunday night however so plan to be there!

Advance to re-signings - TONIGHT (SUN 12/20)
Advance to week 1 of free agency - TUE 11 AM CST
Advance to week 2 of free agency - WED 11 AM CST
Advance to final week of free agency - THU 11 AM CST
Advance to final scouting - SAT 11 AM CST
NFL Draft - SUN 7 PM CST

Just a reminder, a typical contract should include 15-25% signing bonus. For example, if you sign a guy to a 3-year, $18M deal, he should probably get at least a $3M signing bonus. Don't try to game the system and offer contracts with no or little bonus. That's not realistic. However, signing guys to one or two-year deals at less than $1M per season do not need a bonus if they we agree to one. Any deal of 3+ years or any deal where you offer $1M per season or more should follow the bonus guidelines for the sake of realism.

Thank you and good luck!

Also, new guys, be sure to set your settings fill roster and re-sign players "off" so the CPU does not sign anyone for you.

Everyone, please remember that you are in control of your roster. Make sure to use the offseason to sign all the necessary pieces that you will need come the preseason. That includes signing extra guys so that your starters do not have to play all the time in the preseason. Everyone should attempt to be at at least 53 guys by the preseason if not closer to 60. Keep in mind that we have a waiver process and signings are limited in the preseason so do not wait until then to fill your roster out. ;)

I want to remind everyone about keeping your salary cap in mind when offering contracts. Not only your cap this year, but in future years. There are no bail outs if you overspend and cannot fill your roster. You will be removed from the league if this happens. That's not meant to be a threat, but everyone should be sure they are not handicapping their teams by signing contracts they really cannot afford. Just FYI ;)
