Prescott's Precision Rattles Redskins

With a towel draped over his head, slumped over on his stool, still in game pants. Redskins corner Bashaud Breeland knew his effort last night was unacceptable. In the second half, Breeland stood no chance as Dak Prescott threw dagger after dagger after dagger. His counterpart Terrance Williams the Cowboys 3rd weapon and reciever, would finish the night with 7 catches for 196 and a TD. It seemed every big third down, Dak converted, Tied at 10 going into the half, Washington seemed to gain a little momentum, forcing a Dallas punt then converting into 3 points right before the half to get it even, but the Cowboys had other ideas, on the opening drive of the third quarter, Prescott, behind the "Great wall of China" (or the Cowboys offensive line) marched his unit down the Redskins throats like a hot knife through butter. Finishing with a perfect quarterback ranking of 158.3 I caught up with Dak and asked him about his decison making tonight. He said "It was like shooting fish in a barrell, I've never done it, but I hear it's easy." Needless to say, Prescott was high on his own performance.

After going up 16-10, Dan Bailey shanked the extra point giving the Redskins a gift. That would not play a factor as the Dallas defense forced three straight punts from the Kirk Cousins led offense in the 3rd frame. Stalling out those drives were essential to the Cowboys methodical approach on offense that led to three straight touchdown drives to ice the game. Even when the Redskins offense showed a little life converting a 4th and long to set up a touchdown halfway through the 4th quarter, the defense coudlnt make the stop. They had their chances, as the RE Jonothan Allen looked to sack Prescott for a 3rd time in the game. Unfortunately the officiating crew led by Jerome Boger (the top penalty calling crew in the league) flagged Allen for a hit below the striking point and gave the Cowboys a first down. After the game Jay Gruden ran down Boger in the tunnel as said "That was the biggest pile of **it call he's ever seen with a punt on the line!" Expect to see Gruden's wallet get a little lighter this week from the NFL office in New York.

The Redskins have no time to feel sorry for themselves, in the stretch run of December. With 4 games to play it might as well be January for all the teams in the NFC East, a loss the rest of the way and playoff hopes will certainly be dashed. An issue that is starring the Redskins in the face is their 1-4 division record, their only hope at the post season now is without tie breakers, they must either run the table or go 3-1 and get some help. Things are not looking good for the boys on Capital hill. a Trip to Los Angeles hangs in the balance, they better find the right formula soon, or they just might be making vacation plans as early as next Sunday night. game-recap-mn66q.png
