Pirates Cubs Trade - APPROVED

Pirates are trading RF Damon, SS Kozma, and RP Rainville to the cubs for starting SS Jimenez. Pirates are without a starting shortstop for next season with the loss of guillen to free agency. With Villar still needing to develop in the minors, Jimenez is a great defense shortstop who is cheap that can fill that spot for the next couple seasons till Villar is ready. In return the pirates are sending Damon their backup OF in a salary dump move. Further more as prospects for this trade they are sending a Single A pitcher Rainville and SS prospect Kozma, both who could be future major leaguers but still need to develop.

The Pirates accept.

Decline. Looks like wayyyy too much for Jiminez, especially when you’re giving up a SS who could very well start in the MLB AND Damon who it’s probably top 20 RF in the league. And taking on more cap by getting Jiminez. I don’t get this one.

traded for him last season when I was in heavy buy now mode. Im still able to trade him if I traded for him a season ago correct? This is more of a salary dump. If people reject this because Im giving up too much, I'll most like likely just put damon on waivers, and then revise the trade.

I was just going through trades and was like WTF lol. We might need to start adding the year to the trade haha
