Patriots Recap: Heading into the bye week

Three weeks into the season the world champs stand at 2-1. Not the record they had imagined heading into their bye week. New owner Daz Watshesaid has remained optimistic about the team heading into the bye week. With a 2-1 record the Patriots are sitting pretty in their division and have the division leaders Dolphins in their sights.

Tom Brady is in playoff form, yes playoff not midseason form. With ten touchdowns and one interception he is a prime candidate to be MVP. Gronkowski and Edelman remain the driving force for the skilled position players. Newly acquired Ryan Mathews has struggled early in games but that has mostly been due to the ineptitude of The offensive line. Daz want the run blocking to be corrected during the bye week.

The defense has been bittersweet. Chandler jones leads the team with 3 sacks, but he seems to be the only one who can apply pressure. Second year man Malcolm Butler has stepped up and exceeded expectations after being thrust into the starting role after Logan Ryan was traded away. Butler currently leads the team with 3 interceptions. The defense has been literally bending but not breaking, while it leads to victories Daz would like to see the defense dominate more, but he is comfortable letting the offense lead the team to victories,

Tune in next week for the game of the week when the Patriots try to beat boredom from not playing a game.
