New York Giants was back in playoffs after winning the NFC East but lost in Wildcard round. Players and coaches were disappointed. 2018 goal remains the same to win NFC East and go deeper in playoffs.

NYG boasted one of the league’s best defenses under DC Steve Spagnuolo, and with several rookies drafted to provide depth. Defense should continue to be aggressive. All 3 rookies in defense could be starting but right now only OLB MaTaafe and MLB Cameron Smith are projected to start. DC Spagnuolo also likes the potential of FS Justin Reid (Stanford).

NY Giants will still run west coast offense but new OC David Shaw will be calling the plays. With FA signing of RB Jeremy Hill - they plan to be more balance with an stronger running game. 1st round pick Rookie LT Mike McGlinchey (ND) is penciled already as starting LT.

WR Brandon Marshall retired, creating an gap in WR depth chart. There's competition for #3 WR spot with Rueben Randle and rookie WR Jake Wieneke fighting for that spot.

NYG made an surprise draft pick of QB Ryan Finley (NC State), new OC David Shaw really likes his poise and pocket presence. Could push 2nd year QB Davis Webb for backup spot and perhaps start QB in 2019 season.

First pre-season game vs Miami. Game recap will be up after game and some training camp notes.
