With the trade deadline upon us, the Mets are looking to add a key player to help improve their chances in the post-season. Lankford just turned 29 and has power and speed which the Mets are looking for. He is not a rental as he still has 6 years left so the Mets plan to have him as a key player for the rest of his career. The Cardinals on the other hand are looking to the future and are looking to add a few young players that can help them with their rebuild.

3.5 stars CF Ray Lankford


Mets trade:
2.5 star CF Jay Payton

2.5 star SP Paul Byrd

2.5 star RP Jeff Tam
