Manziel Shelved 6 Weeks With Broken Hand
Say it aint so #BrownsNation!! Johnny has suffered a broken hand and will miss 6 weeks because of it. In the third quarter of the Redskins game, Johnny kept a QB Read play and was taken down after a 1 yard gain. He immediately grimaced in pain and started crawling trying to stand up. At this moment, backup QB Kirk Cousins put on his helmet and started warming up. Trainers rushed out to the field and told him to stay down. They knew immediately he had broken his hand, but did not disclose anything. While everyone knew he was probably done for the day, Browns fans were hopeful.
When this injury was sustained, the Browns were down 2 touchdowns on a comeback attempt. Cousins came in and capped off the drive finding Ladarius Green for the score. It was a welcome sight to see Cousins finish what Johnny had started. Cousins actually looked very good in this game. He ended the day 10/15 132 yards 1 TD and 0 INT. However, the Browns did suffer a 38-24 loss. After the touchdown pass to Green, it was reported that Johnny did indeed break his hand and will miss 6 weeks.
After the game the Browns office immediately got on the phones. It's rumored that they spoke to the Bucs about Glennon, and the Rams about Mannion. Late last night the Browns signed veteran Jay cutler in a surprise move, but that answered the question as to where they are going to go with the quarterback situation. Glennon and Mannion were options to backup Cousins in case something more drastic happened, but with the Cutler signing, it raises the question..... Is Cutler going to start? Owner Chris Bigtex had this to say about Cutler starting and the QB situation when asked if these guys succeed does it threaten Johnny's job?:
Does Cousins continue to play after getting a 116.5 QBR going 10/15 132 yards 1 TD and 0 INT after Manziel's injury, or does Jay Cutler come in after having no work this year and take over??
