LA Times Rams Report: Week 2 Review

Another week another putrid display by the offense of the Los Angeles Rams. In a week where we saw the offense of the Rams turn the ball over 4 total times, we got to see the defense have to totally take responsibility and win this game in the clutch. 28-26 was the final score in LA, but those 28 points were helped by another defensive touchdown from the defense and a special teams kick return touchdown. Jared Goff looked absolutely terrible as he threw 2 interceptions on the day, over throwing both of his targets badly and also losing a fumble. If not for a long touchdown run by Todd Gurley on the first snap from scrimmage, the Rams would have lost this game in blowout fashion.

Dallas came out and put on a passing display like no other as Dak Prescott got the nod for the Cowboys. Moving the ball up and down the field, the Cowboys had over 100 yards more on offense than the Ram offense. That bend don't break philosophy that Jeff Fisher teaches showed up as the Cowboys were forced to attempt 3 field goals within the 20 yard line. All in all this game hinged on the play of Dez Bryant who put up some truly amazing numbers on the day but when needed the most couldn't come through, down 2 points after a touchdown late, Dez dropped a wide open 2 point conversion pass that ultimately sealed the Cowboys fate.

2-0 is a great start to the season, but a deeper look will show some troubles brewing underneath for these Rams. The offense needs some consistency if they want any chance to contend. For now, the Rams look onto week 3 for the huge matchup with the 2-0 Carolina Panthers and superstar Cam Newton. Until next time LA...
