LA Times Rams Report: Week 1 Review

All-Star
With week one in the books, the Los Angeles Rams showed they have the defense to compete in this league. However, the offense showed that they have plenty to work on. Despite what looked like a blowout win 27-0, the offense outside of a long run by Raheem Mostert and a 36 yard touchdown pass to Tavon Austin on the first drive of the game, was largely ineffective. On two redzone drives the team could only muster 2 field goal attempts despite 3 straight runs from Todd Gurley on the 1 yard line.

Enough on the inefficiencies, the defense on the other hand looked very tough to beat. Causing 5 turnovers on the day, once the offense gave the defense the lead they never looked back. They brought the heat all day on the combination of Kirk Cousins and Colt McCoy. Kirk Cousins went down early in the 1st half with a toe injury. 4 interceptions on the day and 1 forced fumble recovered for a touchdown really put the brakes on a Redskins team looking to make a splash.
