Kind of late getting this in but after the Royals made a move earlier in year to acquire CF-Charlie Blackmon from Colorado for RP- B. Finnegan and SP- S. Manaea. The Royals recently improved the starting rotation with a deal with the Atlanta Braves for Mike Minor in exchange for Wade Davis. The Royals had a surplus at closer position with already having Greg Holland in closer role and with Davis being in last year of contract making a move for Minor was a smart choice since Minor still has another year left a his contract. So welcome the two new players to the Royals family.

After playing pretty .500 baseball for the season (even with the loss of Lorenzo Cain for 20 some odd games due to injury) the Royals recently hit a 4 game skid after a tough loss to the Orioles. Royals were dominating the Orioles going into the top of the 9th leading 3-0 when the Orioles erupted for 3 runs and then went on to win 4-3 in extra innings. Since then the Royals have a dropped a 3 game series to the Astros resulting in a 4 game losing streak. Remarkably the Royals still set just 1.5 games behind the Twins and 6.5 behind the White Sox for the division lead. It will be a tough road ahead in the last half of the season but hopes are the Royals can start a winning streak and challenge the White Sox for the division lead.

As the Royals are nearing the end of their season they visited the Minnesota Twins for a crucial 4 game series. After taking the first 3 games, the Royals sent newly acquired starter Mike Minor to the mound to try and sweep the Twins. Minor did just that and more as he nearly threw a no-hitter! Minor blanked the Twins in runs and hits all the way up until the 9th inning. Check out the video below for a full recap of Minor's impressive day!

After a great end of the season run the Royals finished second in the AL Central Division but did earn a Wild Card spot taking on the Oakland A's in a one game playoff. The Royals jumped out to a 2-0 lead but ended up falling to the A's 5-3. After what started out as a season that looked to be headed to a below .500 season the Royals rallied around danwin and finished well above pundits predictions.
